But stuffs accomplished. Paper is started. Lunch and dinner are both done for tomorrow for Argus and I. Manny hit #499, and kittens didn't totally freak out when I put the halters on them. Well, okay, Tayla took off running, but that was it. Seriously, I don't even have any scratches.

More tomorrow. I was contemplating the gym, but we'll see. It's midnight. (bleah)

C'mon, Sox, win, please? Thanx.

Well, I'm off after work to WalMart to get something to tape up the screens on our porch. Why? Because Bear apparently got out today and hung out under our porch until our wonderful landlady found him and put him back in the house.

He nearly gave me a heart attack. I was running around, late for work and nearly in tears because I couldn't find him. My cats are my babies (hey, I have no kids), and he's NOT equipped to live outdoors. These guys are strictly indoor kitties. But they love the porch, and I like giving them some fresh air, so it's off to get some stuff to make sure he can't get out again. (Yes, we're replacing the screens eventually, but we have to coordinate with the landlords on that.)

In other news, I need to learn to destress a bit more. I had a major headache today, because of Bear and life and I'm sick and the book's being a PITA and...you get the idea. I've got a bellydance workout taped that I haven't had a chance to try, and I'm seriously considering starting yoga again. Anyone have any good suggestions for a fat, out-of-shape white girl?

I'm also going to start listing writing goals for the day again. I need to get back into a groove. To that end, the goals today:

1. Finish the timeline for Seasons

Yep, that's it. Finish the bloody timeline, and anything else is gravy. I also need to get caught up with crits over at DII (bad, bad Val), so I'm aiming to get one crit done tonight after I get home and can access my other email.

Oh, and the cold? I'm almost positive it's weather-related. Mid-70s during the day, and mid-40s at night. I HATE boomarangs like that. It plays havoc with my sinuses.

And I gained more weight. *sulk* Stress again. Gotta start working on that. I need about 10 more hours a day so I can fit in time to relax.

Okay, enough whining. Time to get my butt in gear and write (for the remainder of my lunch period).
I went home an hour early last night, because I felt awful. Puking in the work bathroom is NOT my idea of a good night's work. So home I went, feeling a little guilty (but hey, it was only an hour before close anyways) and spent two hours in the bathtub. Today I felt better. YAY!

Got 650 words last night, despite feeling crappy. More tonight, hopefully.

And, for all of you, Kitten pictures!!!

Well, today was vet day. My vets must LOVE me - all three kittens went in. Boyos are now eunuchs and not happy about it. Tayla got her last distemper. And all three are now chipped, so I can be a little less horrified if they get out. My bank account is lighter, to say the least, but hey, now they don't need to go back until next year for check-ups.

No writing progress to report - I've got to get back in the saddle. Saturday and Sunday are writing days: I need to get busy!!!

I need to buy plane tickets too, but that's a whole 'nother thing....

Well, the kittens have achieved oneness. So much so that when I put Bear and Sebastian in the bathroom for the night tonight, Tayla cried until I let them out again. *sigh* So Argus is going to have to learn to deal with little bells and kittens running through the house at all hours of the night.

I got a new review of Horseman today! Please check out:
http://www.eternalnight.co.uk/books/g/griswoldfordvalerie/notyourfathershorseman.html

And I went to the gym. Hit one mile swimming today - not going to hit my goal of 5 miles for the month of December, but I'm transferring it to January. I want to see how far I can go. Maybe I'll see how many miles it is to swim the English Channel, and start charting my progress. I wonder how long it would take me? Yay, a challenge! Which I need, because I gained again over the holidays. :\ I'm currently at 285. Blech. My goal weight? I'd be happy to get down to 200. I'd love to be at 160. But I'm aiming for 200. So, we start eating healthier (made the yummiest dinner tonight - lots of broccoli and homemade cheese sauce - very healthy and not high in calories! Go Rachel Ray!).

Bear and Sebastian go to the vet's for the first time tomorrow. I have to clean out the car first - finally. I've still got stuff in it from Harpers - which was LABOR DAY!!!! I am so bad about cleaning. Really and truly. I hate it. But I need to do more.

Okay, enough whining. I'm heading to bed, in hopes that kittens will follow my lead. Until next time...

Three kittens. Good Goddess, what was I thinking? :p

Yes, Bear and Sebastian have come home. The ride from Worcester wasn't bad, although Bear cried the whole way. Tayla is less than pleased to have little brothers. Actually, I think she's scared of them. :)

They're little balls of fluff - about half her size. But she's used to being the smallest kitten - so they look pretty weird to her. I'm sure, in a couple of days, they'll all be playing together.

Bear and Sebastian are adorable. Okay, they're ALL adorable, but the two little boys are so SMALL!

And adventurous. Bear has already figured out that he can divebomb his brother from the couch. This is why I am pulling an all-nighter tonight - to make sure they don't have any problems. See, we'd put them in the bathroom, but they're afraid of the fan. (Not that I blame them - it sounds like a 757 coming in for a landing.) So in order to make sure they don't have any problems their first night here, I'm staying up until Argus wakes up in the morning (he gets up around 4:30/5ish) and then sleeping until 11 am. :D

Come and write with me in FM Chat! I'll need people to keep me awake! :p

That's about to get worse.

Those of you who I talk to in FM or IM already know the story, but for everyone else: by the end of Christmas Day, Argus and I will have not one, not two, but THREE kittens. Two males, eight weeks old, and one female, nine weeks old.

The female, Tayla, arrived yesterday evening. She's an absolutely adorable black tiger striped kitten, with double paws and a TON of energy. She also loves to curl up on laps or the backs of knees to sleep, and has a purr motor that won't quit. Can you tell I'm in love?

Bear and Sebastian are all set to come home Christmas Day. Tayla was part of a multi-cat household before, and I can tell she misses having other cats around, so I'm sure she'll love having the boys here.

Personally, I can't wait. And Argus called home on his lunch break to check on how "his little girl" was doing, so I know he's in love too. Right now, she's sleeping on the back of my chair. I haven't had a Muse since Max died - I guess I'll have 3 after Christmas!

I'm glad we waited, though. We were devastated when we had to put Max to sleep - and in no shape to handle a new cat. Now, we get the chance to help out two friends and bring three new lives into our hearts. No replacement for Max - but now at least there's room in our hearts for other cats.

Even now, thinking about him makes me cry. I wonder if that will ever change. Probably not - he and I were very, very close, and I miss him every day. But the little kitten purring drowsily behind me is a welcome sound - and having her fall asleep with us last night was great. And none of them look like Max at all - which is good.

I'll never have another chocolate-point Siamese. But I'll enjoy Bear, Sebastian and Tayla, and be happy knowing that Max had a good life here. And that he's being spoiled in the afterlife.

Of course, I doubt I'll get much writing done in the next couple of weeks, but I'm going to try. :) More updates later....
