Did my full workout today, including the last 10 minutes of cardio, which I've been skipping due to time constraints. Today, I felt so good that I actually ran for 3 minutes for the first time in like 13 years.

And my knees don't hurt!!!

I'm very encouraged. More updates as they come.

I can't believe it's almost October. *sigh* Where did this year go?

They go faster, you know, the older you get, until one day, you're standing there with sand under your toes and it's all the sand that's run out of your hourglass, and it's on the beach and there's no way to get it back. Yuck, morbid thoughts on a Monday morning - not a good thing.

Anyways, it's been a few days since I've posted, and so it's time to update again. I took the weekend away from the internets, and it worked well - I got nearly 3k done on my Last Rites synopsis yesterday. Lots of plotty goodness, and I'm thinking I'm really getting a grip on how to end the story. I also showed the first bits of what I thought was going to be a novella in my elven world - yeah, well, let's just say that Underhill will be getting its own synopsis very shortly. I have a good beginning, but I need to refine the rest of the idea for the novel. I might cannabalize some of the plot from Treaty of Betrayal to use in this.

Weight is up a little this week - not happy about that, but it's a process and I accept that. I did make the gym twice last week, and [livejournal.com profile] beard5 and I went this morning as well. This week, the goal is three days (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Also, we signed up for a session with Andrew, the personal trainer, to design plans for us for next Monday. My goals? Strengthen my knees and lose my belly.

Food-wise, I'm not doing that badly, although the hard cider and pizza and cinnastix yesterday did NOT help. I managed to keep my breakfast journal all week - today, I'm going to try and keep a full day's journal. I need to email my nutritionist my journal from last week - yet more accountability. I'm finding I need that.

And lastly, today I did not bring in any soda. I am going to resist buying a soda as long as possible. Today, I believe, I will start the detox.
I also stepped on my scale this morning. I'd been up around 289 lbs last week (ah, stress is SO much fun!) so I blinked a bit when the scale said 284.6 lbs. Woot, the exercise is working!

I only managed 15 minutes on the bike this morning, but I still did it! My quads need to build up their strength - I'm not giving up, but I'm not going to injure myself either. So I've decided to work up to 5 days a week - this week, I did Monday and Wednesday and will be going Friday afternoon. I think I'm going to walk on Friday - I want to do an hour, and I KNOW my quads won't handle that.

I'm also going to go on a bike ride this weekend - I'm not sure where, or how long, but I want to explore some of the side roads around me. We're on the outskirts of our city, and I think there are some very pretty little neighborhoods.

More later.
Good morning, everyone! It's a dreary Monday morning, but I am bright, chipper and rarin' to go!

Yes, this really is me. :D

Got up this morning and went to the gym, after a slice of yummy quiche that I made yesterday. I need to get juice tonight - tea takes too long to cool in the morning. I rode for 20 minutes on the exercise bike - long enough to know that I was working out, but not long enough that I couldn't walk or sit afterwards.

Very happy. Will update more later.

Not far, really, but I found my old bike helmet and set out bravely to the Tedeschi's supermarket in to get whipped cream and donuts for the boyo. I forgot that they were digging up the road, though, and only made it to the Cumberland Farms. Still, I biked for about 20 minutes! Go me! And I didn't fall, didn't make a fool of myself. I did, however, remember three things:

1. I really still love to ride.
2. Bike seats are hard on rears that are not used to them.
3. White teeshirts and rain do not mix.

But it was fun! I loved it. I can't wait until Friday, when I can go again!

Tomorrow morning is biking in the gym - no wind in my hair, but I can listen to my iPod. And I'll still get exercise in!

Now, back to Tony's dossier. I WILL finish this tonight.

After bumbleberry crumble.

I went to the gym today! Now I'm learning Project 2003 - OMG, I'm in love. I gotta get this for my home computer.

More later.

So, after writing, I made summer pesto pasta for dinner, picked up the living room a bit (my vacuum is STILL not working, bah) and headed out to the gym only 15 minutes behind schedule.

Got in 25 minutes of swimming and treated myself to 10 minutes in the Jacuzzi, then headed into work and found out that I've got VTO at 8 pm, so [livejournal.com profile] irysangel and I can go out tonight! WOOT!!!

AND, I figured out what was wrong with Blood Sacrifice while I was doing laps in the pool. Booyah!!!

Well, the kittens have achieved oneness. So much so that when I put Bear and Sebastian in the bathroom for the night tonight, Tayla cried until I let them out again. *sigh* So Argus is going to have to learn to deal with little bells and kittens running through the house at all hours of the night.

I got a new review of Horseman today! Please check out:

And I went to the gym. Hit one mile swimming today - not going to hit my goal of 5 miles for the month of December, but I'm transferring it to January. I want to see how far I can go. Maybe I'll see how many miles it is to swim the English Channel, and start charting my progress. I wonder how long it would take me? Yay, a challenge! Which I need, because I gained again over the holidays. :\ I'm currently at 285. Blech. My goal weight? I'd be happy to get down to 200. I'd love to be at 160. But I'm aiming for 200. So, we start eating healthier (made the yummiest dinner tonight - lots of broccoli and homemade cheese sauce - very healthy and not high in calories! Go Rachel Ray!).

Bear and Sebastian go to the vet's for the first time tomorrow. I have to clean out the car first - finally. I've still got stuff in it from Harpers - which was LABOR DAY!!!! I am so bad about cleaning. Really and truly. I hate it. But I need to do more.

Okay, enough whining. I'm heading to bed, in hopes that kittens will follow my lead. Until next time...
So, it's been weird.

My sister-in-law passed away on Monday. She was Argus' oldest brother's wife - not someone we really knew, but still, family. The wake is tonight - I got the night off from work to go with him down to the viewing.

I got my latest infusion yesterday - part of it includes a weigh-in. Ugh. 282 pounds - I've never been this heavy. YUCK!!! Talk about a kick in the pants - going to swim later today (I want to get Argus to go over with me before we go down to Worcester) and will be swimming/fighting/cycling every chance I get. I have 8 weeks before I go back and they'll weigh me again - I'd love to drop 10 lbs (they say 1-2 lbs a week is a good goal).

So it's back to the gym. And watching what I eat. And hoping to avoid the holiday pitfalls. :p But I'm not going overboard. The last thing I need is more stress. Which is why swimming is so good - no competing, no one yelling at me. Just me and my body. Same reason I love the stationary bikes and treadmills. Because I'm sorry - this Southern girl does NOT like going outside in the winter to exercise!!! :p

Okay, enough of that. Now time to do a wee bit of clean-up and start the first batch of chocolates hardening (my coworkers and family are getting all sorts of yummy treats for Christmas), then write. Argus and I should be heading out by 5 or so, so I have some time. And I think I'm taking the whole night off from work - just not into dealing with customers after a wake.
Okay, so it's early afternoon, but it scans better with morning. :p

I've had a busy day already, and as I was driving home from the gym (yes, the gym - more on that in a moment), I realized that I needed to reschedule my life a wee bit, so I can stop rushing from thing to thing.

So here goes.

Argus and I joined the Y (we get to go to both the Nashua and the Merrimack Y for the same price) yesterday, and this morning I hauled myself out of bed (later than I wanted to, but I did it) and went down to swim. I swam 500 yards (the pool is 25 yards long) and boy, I'm sore now! I could barely stand up straight - so I relaxed in the jacuzzi for about 10 minutes. It felt HEAVENLY - worth the price of the membership right there! *grin* Anyways, there was a calculation on the wall at the Y: 70 laps = 1 mile. So I've a new count to keep up with - I'd like to hit 5 miles by the end of the month. That's 350 laps.

So, new meter:

The Merrimack Y is right down the road from us - about 10 minutes away (welcome to NH - anything less than a 1/2 hour away is "right down the road.") As I was driving home, I realized that I was already wanting to go back and swim again. Good thing. However, I also realized that I have a very badly thought-out schedule to fit this into. Bad thing.

So weekday mornings are now swimming, cleaning, doing emails, LJ, and cooking. All running around will be done in the mornings. If you email me after 2:30 pm EST (because I'll be in the shower by then), the email will not get read until the next morning. Sorry, but that's the way it's going to be for a while. If I have time to write in the mornings, great! That's an added bonus.

Weekday nights, after I get home from work, are going to be writing. Strictly writing, because I want to be in bed by 1:30 am, and up by 9:30 am. That gives me 8 hours of sleep (which I need!) and time to write.

So I might not get a lot of writing done in December, because of Christmas. BUT, I'll still have weekends, and after January 1, I should have some more time in the mornings. So we'll see how this goes.

Had an awesome idea in the jacuzzi for the sex scene I'm working up to in Dreams. Since my plot suddenly took a right turn (duh, why didn't I realize it was going to take Alis a COUPLE of days to make these charms, which gives James and Sapph a chance to get to...ahem, get to know each other better), I think I might actually hit the 80k mark on the first draft. I haven't updated the count in a while, so here it is:

Oh, and I'm giving up posting on most, if not all, of the boards I'm on. I just can't keep up. I'll still cruise FM's boards once in a while, but that's it.

Off to fold laundry and shower...
