And done! I've finished a short story!!!

starting count: 725
ending count: 1708
change: +938

starting line:
I unpacked our late supper: crackers, brie cheese and smoked sausage slices, along with chocolate-covered strawberries, raspberries and of course, the bottle of wine.

ending line:
And I cried.

darling:
The moon rose higher as we made love, the river a counterpoint to the plaintive songs of the whippoorwills and our own intimate sounds. Time had fallen away, lost in the fog, and we were the center of our own universe.

***

It's a weird, violent little tale. I really liked the prompt and the way it came out. There may be more on this, depending on stuff. :D

Yes, I'll say more later.

But I FINISHED A SHORT STORY!!!!

Very good, Val. Sounds fantastic. Me? I'm cleaning up/submitting 10 yrs worth of writings that I have been afraid to share. Would love to read your story. I wrote 1200 words while in ER for 4 hrs with my mother. My motto -- write whenever/wherever you can.

Thanks! :) I'm working, slowly, through a block that's really been frustrating me in the past month and a half, so I'm really pleased that I was able, not only to finish this, but to send it out as well.

Good luck with your submissions!
