So now that I’ve spilled the beans on Mitchell Plested’s podcast Get Published (Interview here!), I’ll announce it here officially.

Rum and Runestones did so well that we’re doing a sequel! And this time, I’m opening it up to submissions. BUT – there are some caveats.

1. I’m looking for the following: Pirates. Magic. MUST BE ABOUT Pirates and Magic!

2. Stories must be under 8k.

3. Stories cannot be submitted before November 1st. If you submit it before November 1st, it will be deleted unread, unless I have said something to you earlier.

Stories can be submitted to val@vg-ford.com starting November 1 and ending November 30.

The title of the new book? Spells and Swashbucklers.

Yay! Congratulations!
But *sniff* my story is 10K. I think I'm doomed. But it'll be a great anthology, regardless.
Hugs and smiles,
Jean Marie

Hehe - we'll see. Maybe we can snip it down to size. I'll let you know when I start reading them.

I'll see what I can do before Nov. 1, but no guarantees. :-)
Wishing you so many great submissions you don't need "Lord Bai and the Magic Pirate".
Hugs and smiles,

Historical pirates or are pure fantasy settings acceptable? And precisely what constitutes a pirate?

Any setting. Any kind of tale. And we had everything from bikers turned pirate to Captain Hook to Japanese samurai in the last one. As long as it's seagoing/watergoing/spacegoing pirates - not things like computer hackers. :)

I've been spending most of my writing time in non-fiction of late, but I just might throw an entry in.

Are authors in Rum & Runestones eligible? I have a tale in the works that could become a sequel.

Anyone who wants to submit can, definitely! I promise berths to no one, but I do read everything!

Sorry, I posted the anonymous query. I wasn't signed in. I'll get it done and to you.
