Well, today was my infusion day. The vampires had a new vampire with them - she decided to give my major vein a "rest" and try another vein.

See, it's my major vein because, well, I ONLY HAVE ONE ACCESSIBLE VEIN! My veins are very small, and very deep, and very tempermental. So after she gave me a lovely bruise on my arm (yup, blew the vein with the first flush!), she decided to admit defeat and let a more experienced vampire get the line in.

For those who don't know, I get an infusion every 8 weeks for my Crohn's disease. It's not as bad as it seems - I come in at 10 am, get hooked up to the IV, plug in Merlin and work for several hours (usually until 1-2 pm), then go to work. They feed me lunch (meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes and spinach - yum! And chocolate ice cream...) and I can get a lot of work done. It's a good thing.

I got about 100 pgs edited on Tony's novel, which is good, because I'd like to get that back to him before I leave for Pennsic. Unfortunately, I had a major sinus migraine yesterday (thank you, Donna!), so missed a day of work AND a day of writing. Bah.

Tonight, I'm going to go to Walmart and get the walls for the dining fly (once I head home and get my checkbook - did I mention I flew out the door this morning?) and anything else I can think that I might need.

Tomorrow is cleaning and editing and stitching together the last of Argus' tunics (two more to machine stitch, then handstitching to hem, do the collar and add trim) and packing my basket. Oh, and playing with the kittens, who are convinced that we're leaving and NEVER COMING BACK. Talk about making me feel guilty....
Which I will put behind a cut to spare my flist.

Life was interesting this weekend - we helped [livejournal.com profile] aishabintjamil clean up her mother's house. Found some really cool vintage stuff - I have the most awesome new hat. :D But there was a LOT of stuff to be gotten rid of - apparently, neither her mother or her great-aunt believed in throwing ANYTHING out. It was...educational, to say the least.

This is the second time I've helped out a friend doing that. Hey, [livejournal.com profile] watermelontail, remember Dina's house? This one, luckily, was smaller, and we were allowed to throw stuff out.

I realized a major plot point that I can't believe I've forgotten so far, and this leads me to believe that the piece of story I'm writing now might get pushed back farther into the book in the next draft. After everything that went down at Gene-Tech at the end of the last book, there is NO WAY in HELL that the cops are not going to want to talk to Nikki. No way. Unless...*light goes off in author's brain* Maybe that's who Derek is!

I'm so smart. :p

Sleep now. More tomorrow.

Now the book is back to the author with lots of helpful (I hope) suggestions, and I'm cracking open my own WIP again.

Yay!

Today, I will finish the editing.

That is the goal.

Oh, and at 4 pm EST, I will watch the Red Sox game.

I have such a thrilling life.

ETA:
Got to page 375. Now off to watch the Sox, and then back to finish.

To finish the editing.

I have a bit over 200 pages left. It's 11:11 pm right now.

I need a partner in warring.

[livejournal.com profile] amcnh and [livejournal.com profile] camilla_anna, I'll be waiting for you in chat.

Okay, I'm going to start without you, most likely. :p

Well, despite an upset tummy that came on suddenly (thanks, Crohn's!), I still got a whopping 3,093 words done yesterday. Go me! That's total, since the Friday night words happened actually Saturday morning (hey, they got counted on my July total, so I'm counting them as Saturday numbers). So here are the metrics for July so far:

Yup, going for 50k goal for the month. That includes work on both novels, as well as stuff for the web comic and for Virtual Tales. So now, here's the goal for today, since the hubby is off for a couple of days to see friends in Worcester:

The schedule )

We'll see how it goes. I'm hanging out in FM chat if anyone wants to talk.

Oh! And the Sox won AGAIN! 16-2 in Interleague this year! Go Us!

Got more editing done tonight on the vampire novel I'm editing for DMP. Very cool book - needs some tightening, but a spiff storyline. Should be out by the end of this year.

Also, news! You can now get Not Your Father's Horseman as a serial! Check out http://www.VirtualTales.com - I'm in the Fantasy section. The first episode is already available. I'm very excited about this, so check it out!

Don't know how much I'll get done tomorrow - I have a funeral to go to during the day, and then I'll be home.

Met most of my goals - got 1 chapter done on the novel I'm editing, and have sent it off to the author, so he knows what I'm looking at.

Also got a little over 1k done on Dreams - a good night.

Darling:“Or what? The entire universe as we know it will come to an end?” I’ve always wanted to say that.

Sapph was a bit more witty tonight - I'm thinking it might be the wine. ;) We'll see.

Up tomorrow - Ellen finally confronts her. Hee- this is going to be good. I'm pretty much picturing the old "unstoppable force meets immovable object."
