Yay! It's Friday! I have a $50 gift certificate to buy beads (drool, drool, drool) that I am finally going to use tonight! And then, I head home and play WoW before writing. Yes, I am. So there. (BTW, the expansion so you can play the Dranaei? Totally too cool for words)

I am HOPING it's quiet today at work - I want to start messing with a short story. I have a weird concept that I want to see what I can do with. And no, I'm not saying any more until I figure it out more.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] jmeadows? Yeah, thanks for the link to The Hero Machine, as I believe I know what will suck me in today. Especially since I have a character rollbook here (and can fake dice, if I need to).

That reminds me - need to find a random number generator online so I don't need to bring dice to work...

More later.

Courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] madwriter, this link about we are not originally part of the Milky Way is not only fascinating (I've always loved astronomy; unfortunately, my math skills weren't up to my love), but is already starting to bubble in my brain. I"m sure I'll have another locked plotbunny very, very soon.
Two, actually. One is the pictures of the kittens:

The other is a VERY, VERY informative website/podcast that I would like to pass on to anyone and everyone who is either an already-published writer looking for guidance on how to market the darn thing, or someone who's looking to get into the "glamourous" field of writing. (Yes, I put that in quotes on purpose)

Check this link out:

I've just finished listening to the latest podcast by Tee, during which he talks about the administrative part of being an author. Now, while I joke that I need a secretary (and yes, I'm still accepting applications), the truth is that administrative stuff can soak up a LOT of your writing time.

Now, while Tee is a bit (okay, more than a bit) of a techie-geek and loves to put all sorts of sound effects and stuff in his podcast, it's a good resource for anyone looking to see what a working writer does. I highly recommend it (and his drill sargent is HYSTERICAL!).

Okay, back to work. Check it out.
