Not only is it Friday, but it's a JEANS DAY Friday at work, so I'm very comfortable. The sun is shining, it's supposed to hit 70 degrees F today, and life is good. Royalty check came in yesterday, I have books, I just dropped books off at the post office for former contest winners and I'm contemplating writing again.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day as well! Don't forget to enter the contest for signed copies of Horseman, Seasons and Relief!!!
The flask and garb are in the car. The boss is hinting that we'll get out early. And the sun is shining, and I've got enough money in me pocket for a bottle of rum.

I am an inordinately happy pirate.

The newest audio book I'm listening to is PD James Death in Holy Orders, an Adam Dagliesh murder mystery that takes place on the Suffolk coast, near a village that has sunk into the sea. That part really has nothing to do with the actual storyline (as far as I can tell - I saw this as a Mystery once, but I don't remember) but it's been percolating in my head and I've been dreaming of drowned villages and the people who now inhabit them - I'm thinking it might be something I incorporate into Raindrop.

Raindrop Escape came to me in a meditation session - we were supposed to meditate on being in a raindrop and falling, then going into the sea. My fertile brain immediately presented me with a pair of sisters (I thought twins, but maybe not) on the morning of one's wedding to the King of a land. Her sister, Lyssa, is an Elemental Mage (nope, no idea what that means, but that's what she tells me) - and as they're getting the bride ready, soldiers burst into the tower chamber and announce that there's a coup and they (the sisters) are to come with them. Lyssa grabs her sister and they jump out the window - into a raindrop. Lyssa tells me this is very dangerous magic - I'm not sure why, but I'm working on it. Something to do with having to then get OUT of the raindrop - and where it will let them out. Elemental Plane of Water, maybe?

I have no idea who the King is, if he survived or what happens to the sisters, but it's a damn cool opening scene (or it will be, when I write it) and I'm now thinking that there will be at least one drowned village in it. There's a drowned village in Massachusetts near where I used to live - the only thing left is the church that used to stand on the hill overlooking the town. When they created the reservoir, the church ended up on the shore of the lake, and I've been told that on crystal clear mornings, you can row out, look down and see the drowned houses. I don't know - I've never had the opportunity. But I'd like to.

I've got to put some songs in my songbook tonight for Harpers, and then maybe sort out the scene outline for Snow. I have a feeling class is going to be quiet today, so maybe I'll get a bunch done.

I know a few folks in my flist are having some hard times right now - I'm sending hugs to everyone, and lighting a candle. Maybe I'll do a prosperity and luck ritual on Monday - it seems like we all could use it.
Okay, it's official. I'm in a MUCH better mood when I go to the gym first thing in the morning. How sad is that? I grew up into...a morning person. O_o

Anyways, did 4 miles on the bike this morning - much easier on the knee. Next week, my goal is to go all 5 days - M/W/F will be bike, T/TH will be strength training. We'll see how it goes.

Lots to do today, but I'm out at 2:30 (yay!) so I have time to do it. Here's the list:

1. pay bills
2. grocery list
3. cut out coupons

4. clean living room
5. clean kitchen
6. make dinner
7. write 1k for Seasons

Busy day! Hope you guys are doing well!

Miles to Rivendell: 453
Val was in a pissy, pissy mood for a number of reasons, none of which I can really go into (work-related). I'm sorry for inflicting that on all of you - I've removed the entry. Thanks for the hugs and all - I have the best flist!

Today promises to be better. I'm even working on a happiness list:

1. Cute bento for lunch! How can I be pissy when I have ham, cheese and cranberry mustard men sandwiches and a heart-shaped hard boiled egg for lunch?

2. New debit card! Yes, I lost my debit card, but my bank was able to give me a new one in about 10 minutes. Yay!

3. Seeing old friends tonight. I have a rehearsal dinner to attend after work, and I'll get to see some old friends I haven't seen in a while. (yes, [livejournal.com profile] caitlindancer, I'll take pics tomorrow of everything. Including the twins)

4. Buying a new freezer. That will be this weekend. Yay for big freezers!!!

5. IT'S FRIDAY!!!!

What makes you happy today?

Yep, made it into work despite the snow. Went to bed early last night, AFTER getting everything done I needed to, and woke up at 5:30 to be into work by 7, so I wouldn't have to worry about traffic.

It's still snowing. And now the forcast is for more snow on Monday. *headdesk* I'm done!!!

Okay, things to be happy about:

1. Rent is paid! And I still have money left over! (not enough for my Neo this month, but that's okay. I have until Pennsic to get one)

2. The heavenly smell of my tea this morning: Island Mango and Peach white tea. MMMMmmmmm....

3. It's FRIDAY!!! And hopefully we'll be hanging out tonight at Strange Brew with friends.

4. I'm wearing low heels today. And the knee isn't bothered!

5. Got more written on Seasons last night - a sweet scene with Derek, who's getting more and more confused. :D

Today, I have a few things I want to accomplish:

- write (duh)
- reset the passwords on my online banking for the credit union (don't ask)
- finish my budget for April
- calendar for work for April
- writing calendar for April

What makes your Friday happy??

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] shadawyn, I found a pattern last night to knit my own armwarmers. I'm seriously tempted to try them this summer, once I finish my scarf.

Yay! It's Friday! I have a $50 gift certificate to buy beads (drool, drool, drool) that I am finally going to use tonight! And then, I head home and play WoW before writing. Yes, I am. So there. (BTW, the expansion so you can play the Dranaei? Totally too cool for words)

I am HOPING it's quiet today at work - I want to start messing with a short story. I have a weird concept that I want to see what I can do with. And no, I'm not saying any more until I figure it out more.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] jmeadows? Yeah, thanks for the link to The Hero Machine, as I believe I know what will suck me in today. Especially since I have a character rollbook here (and can fake dice, if I need to).

That reminds me - need to find a random number generator online so I don't need to bring dice to work...

More later.
