Despite everything, I did make it to practice last night, so I got to fence with [livejournal.com profile] kuzushi, Baron Bil and [livejournal.com profile] ladytat. I didn't do that horribly (didn't really do that well, but hey, I'm bad, I admit it).

I'm so excited to have a weekly practice that I can make on a regular basis. [livejournal.com profile] kuzushi pointed out that just being there with a sword in my hand every week is going to help my game. I'm really, really looking forward to Pennsic this year, so I want to be in good shape fencing-wise for it.

[livejournal.com profile] kuzushi also asked me what I wanted to qual in next. I have single, schlager, dagger and rigid. I haven't decided whether I'm going case or soft parry yet - I'm probably going to go soft, since I'm still using [livejournal.com profile] caitlindancer's spare schlager, so I need to get at least one of my own before I can start thinking about case. Any of the fencers on my list prefer one over the other?

In other news, we signed papers for a new (to us) car yesterday! We're getting a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan (thank you to the heads up from [livejournal.com profile] jackoutofthebox and [livejournal.com profile] bamfchickie that they were good) and we should (hopefully) be picking it up next week. Only 89k miles on it, and it's in really good condition. We had it checked out by my mechanic and he gave me a list that he'd want taken care of before he bought it - nothing serious, but stuff that could be a problem down the road. We brought the list to the dealer - he's fixing it ALL. If anyone in NH needs a used car, I HIGHLY recommend Phillips Auto in Chichester (on Rte. 4). Mike and Larry have been awesome to us!

No words last night - I was too sore and tired. Today, here's my list of to-dos:

1. Balance checkbook (daily)
2. Post January goals (yeah, I forgot to do this before)
3. Write my Nana a letter (I owe her one)
done! I'm the GOOD granddaughter this month.
4. Start working on a list of short story ideas
5. 1k on Seasons
6. Finish the readthrough on Dreams

Nothing huge - just little stuff. Hopefully today is a slow day at work.
It's raining here. Again.

I feel like a freaking mushroom.

But enough complaining. It's just been that kind of week.

BBM's investiture was rainy, but fun. I had a blast being the Herald for the Challenge Tourney - I'm sure some of those gentles (Wulfere, for one) will NEVER let me decide their challenges again, but hey, that's what you get for telling me to "be creative." Hehehehe...

Oh, and at Midsummer's, ask the Baron to demonstrate his favorite weapons form. It's worth it! ;)

However, Saturday night was not so fun. [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills's car got used as a parking spot by an Isuzu Rodeo. Needless to say, the Taurus didn't fair well being a parking spot. To make matters worse, the guy driving the Rodeo left it there. I'll upload some pictures later.

So, the Taurus is in the shop. I have a rental. I have to put the deposit for the rental on my credit card, which is attached to my bank account. This means all sorts of fun with money, especially since the Taurus wasn't totalled, so until they find the guy and squeeze his insurance, we have to come up with the deductible. Which is $1k.

SOOOOO, the event schedule is changing. Right now, we've cancelled Vinland Raids and Boredom War ([livejournal.com profile] liamstliam, I'll still be sending a bottle down for the auction.) Glenn Lynn is up in the air - we really want to go, but we have to see how money is.

At least my migraine is gone! And we're still going to Midsummer's.

See you all there!
