I have got to start posting daily metrics again. Starting now.

Word Goal for the day: 750 - made 839

Starting line: I had no idea how long it had been since I closed my eyes – there was no sun, and Claire was still scowling down at me.

Ending line: “She was skinned, Maggie.” I shuddered. “Not a few cuts. There was barely any flesh left on her body. What happened?”

Darling: I could feel Maggie next to me, solid and reassuring. A rock. And I was falling off, slipping down into a swirling darkness that had very little of substance in it.

The good news: made my word count today.

The bad news: I'm still short of where I should be for [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90. Yes, I reported for mocking. *sigh*

I'm at 15423 as of this point. I should be at 21000. So this weekend is the push to get caught up.

This weekend is also the push to get the novel I'm editing more than 1/2 way done. Good thing I'm bringing Merlin to my friend's Superbowl party (because I could care less about the Superbowl). I'll hopefully get more done there too.

Here's the [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90 bar so far:

I can do this. I really can.

Oh yeah, and I made a bit of progress on High Caste Faeries vs. Low Caste Faeries at work, but I'll write that in tomorrow.

See you all tomorrow!
*Since I haven't seen a post yet, I'm claiming victory. :p

Now here's the stats for today.

Belladonna Dreams

Word Goal for the day: 750 - made 1295

Starting line: Something else was niggling at me as I wandered the halls, careful to avoid the rushing shades.

Ending line: -Sapph, come look at this,- Heather said, interrupting me. I looked up to find her opening a door towards the end of the hall. David and I joined her, and when we looked in, I groaned.

Darling: The scent was fainter than it had been at the house, but still very recognizable: acrid fear, black and blue and bruised, floating in the air around us.

Word Goal for the day: 750 - made 1089

Starting line: “Stay back,” I said, as Kate started to lean down.

Ending line: Emotion like this was a beacon in the Ghostlands, and I was in no shape to deal with what might show up to see what all the fuss was about.

Darling: Mine is just a switch, hanging on a blank wall. One of those old-time connector switches – you know, the one that Dr. Frankenstein had Igor flip, to connect the circuits and wake the monster up? Yeah, one of those. And usually, all I have to do is call up the image in my head, flip the switch, and I Change.

Deaths: Nope.

Good Things: none. She's pretty well pooched at this point, as far as she's concerned.

Bad Things: See above. Sapph's trapped, and she hasn't got a clue as to how to get out.

No mocking today! Yay! Go me!

Now on to Broken Wings. I got me a date with some War. :D

Well, I'm always one to jump into everything, so I joined [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90 like [livejournal.com profile] jmeadows told me to, because, well, I need something else to do. :p Actually, this is a good thing, as I need to get back on the bandwagon. I've been slacking since I finished Seasons - haven't written a damn thing all week. So I signed up. And I'll be posting my counts here and there as well.

So tonight, I read over what I already have written for Dreams and see what I can do for tomorrow. (writer's group) I need to have something to bring.

Here's the most recent counter for Dreams
